Peter and Sarah had a hard to heat home. It was uncomfortable to live in and staying warm was costing them over £120 a month.
We can't tell you what a difference this has made, now I can sit in the lounge without being wrapped in a blanket and wearing a wool hat!
We helped them to find a scheme to install free loft and floor insulation. Now they find it much easier to stay warm and without worrying about the bill.
Spencer had lived without heating for 6 years but had a £580 debt from standing charges on his gas meter.
I hadn't realised how much living in the cold affected my health. Now my home feels comfortable, I have more energy, sleep better at night and haven't had a cold.
Following our visit the energy supplier agreed to write off the debt, and Spencer also received a fully funded boiler so he has affordable warmth in his home.
Susan is a pensioner who was living in a home with a broken boiler. As she had links to the military, we accessed a special grant to get her a new boiler free of charge.
I felt so embarrassed that I never invited anyone into my house, I hated it. Now it feels cosy and finally a home I can be proud of and want to be in.
This meant that she no longer heated a single room with her oven.
