We have launched a Crowdfunder, as part of our Moths to a Flame project, to raise £25,000 for a year of FREE creative climate action activities in Plymouth and the far Southwest.

Moths to a Flame is a collaborative, mass participation art and energy project. Its aim is to take your voice to World Leaders at the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow, 2021.

A collection of moths is called a ‘whisper’ and we want to create a giant whisper that will turn into a roar for change. To do that, we are gathering together thousands of digital and hand-made moths carrying people's thoughts on the climate emergency. The interactive installation will also feature the recordings of voices, talking about hopes and ideas for a better future. There are activities anyone can join in with - from home, from school and in the community.

PEC is part of the Art and Energy Collective - a group of makers, artists, engineers, ecologists, academics and energy bods who believe exploring new green technologies and our relationship with the world improves confidence to engage with the climate emergency positively. We want you to be involved too!

Our Crowdfunder has launched, and as well as the pure joy of supporting a better energy future, we have lots of awesome rewards on offer...

  • Adopt a solar panel and become part of Plymouth's very own 'Solar System'!
  • Receive an original 'Moth' artwork or painting to adorn to your wall.
  • Be invited to our exclusive moth trapping night in Ernesettle.
  • Snag a limited edition signed copy of Matt Harvey's beautiful 'Moths to a Flame' poem.
  • Join us at the Plymouth preview of the art installation.
  • Go all in, and come along for the ride to Glasgow!

... and much, much more!

Please help us reach as many people as we can! You could make a pledge on Crowdfunder, or spread the word far and wide, through your social media channels, through friends, family and colleagues.

Whatever the future brings, we will grab this opportunity to take the voices of Plymouth to those with the power to make the changes we need! Please join our 'whisper' for change.
